Kensal Rise

This kitchen, dining space and WC were reworked for a journalist and author seeking better flow, stronger use of space and a confident expression of colour. Drawing on a love of orange, natural wood and 1970s design, the scheme balances warmth with graphic clarity. A single vintage Heal’s sofa became the catalyst for the wider concept, informing the palette, geometry and material choices throughout. Mid century references are layered with moments of industrial restraint, from crittall-style glazing to concrete finishes. Vintage pieces sit alongside carefully chosen materials, while a bespoke terrazzo floor introduces a bold, unifying gesture. Hand composed and deliberately imperfect, it anchors the space with texture, rhythm and originality.
